400gsm 12k plain carbon fibre fabric is a perfect backing material for your laminates, especially if you need to build up some thickness. It is twice as thick as 200gsm carbon fibre fabric meaning you can save up money on using 1 layer of 400gsm fabric instead of 2 layers of 200gsm fabric. The material is relatively pliable and not as stiff as 600gsm carbon fibre fabric.
